Rahmi Özgür
Ranch Owner & Founder
“You read the horse before you read the person. That's the whole job.”
Rahmi Özgür carries a tradition that passed grandfather to grandson — one of the names keeping Cappadocia’s deep-rooted horsemanship culture alive. He grew up around horses from childhood; for years now he has operated in and around Göreme, taking guests from Türkiye and abroad through Cappadocia’s singular valleys on horseback.
Known as the Sheriff of Cappadocia for his love of Western culture and his unmistakable style, Rahmi’s work foregrounds Cappadocia’s ancient identity as the Land of Beautiful Horses. He handles training, daily care, and the running of professional tours himself — and that hands-on presence is why guests leave with something safe, natural, and remembered.
Joining a love of horses passed down through generations with a modern view of hospitality, Rahmi continues to protect Cappadocia’s horsemanship culture and pass it on to the next generation.
